July 25th, 2020

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to help with the welcome home of the Soldiers with the South Dakota Army National Guard’s Alpha Battery, 1-147th Field Artillery Battalion and 147th Forward Support Company.  They arrived in the United States on Wednesday, July 8, after serving on a 10-month deployment to Europe.

The units deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, which builds readiness, increases interoperability and enhances the bond between ally and partner militaries using multinational training events in Bulgaria, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Romania.
The Aberdeen-based Alpha Battery is equipped with the Multiple Launch Rocket System, or MLRS, and provides artillery support to a brigade, division, corps or coalition task force. The Watertown-based Forward Support Company is a multifunctional logistics unit which provides supply and maintenance support.

Stage: 12:00 Noon, July 25th, 2020 at the Aberdeen Civic Arena, 203 S. Washington St., Aberdeen, SD.  The flags will be placed at the Civic Arena after 12:00 and the 30’x50′ flag will be put up on the Aberdeen Fire Dept. ladder truck at the Arena also.  Anyone riding bikes contact me for possible escort with Flags from airport to the arena.
