“Flags Only” Funeral Mission

The family of Orville M. Hill has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor Orville with a flag line showing our appreciation and respect for his service to our great Nation. In 1943 Orville joined the United States Navy and served as a cook. He began singing with the Sioux Falls Singing Legionnaires in 1956 and served as past president and treasurer for many years. In addition to singing with the Legionnaires, he served as the Commander for American Legion Post 15.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 3, 2022, at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation with family present to greet friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022, at George Boom Funeral Home. The service at the church and visitation at the funeral home will both be “Flags Only”. Internment will be at a later date in the SD State Cemetery.
