West and East River SD
The daughter, Brooke Rand-Kenny, of CW3 Herbert S. Rand III has requested the Patriot Guard Riders from the states of WA, ID, MT, SD, IA, MO and KS to Honorably transport his remains from SeaTac, Washington to Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. This is known in the Patriot Guard Riders as a “Pony Express” and SDPGR will be receiving, with an honorable transfer, at the MT/WY border on Sept. 18th and delivering, also with an honorable transfer, to the IAPGR at the Vermillion, SD Exit 26, I-29 SD on Sept. 20th.
*All Persons handling the Cremains must wear white gloves
*Riders carrying Cremains must be escorted by at least one other Rider.
*Please keep as tight to the schedule as possible.
1. The family of CWO-3 Herbert S Rand III has requested Patriot Guard Riders and American Legion Riders provide an escort of his cremated remains from Seattle, Washington to Kansas City (Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS).

11:00 AM MDT: Stage at Big ‘D’ gas station, Sturgis
11:15 AM: Depart going to B & J Convience store in Alzada, Montana
1:00 PM: Transfer urn, flag and plaque from Montana Patriot Guard Riders
1:30 PM: Depart Alzada going to American Legion Post 22, Rapid City
3:15 PM: Arrive American Legion Post 22, Rapid City
3:30 PM: Urn, flag and plaque secured inside Post 22. Part 1 of mission complete.
Tuesday, 19 September 2023 – Part 2 of escort mission
8:00 AM MDT: Stage at American Legion Post 22, Rapid City. Retrieve urn, flag and plaque.
8:15 AM: Depart going to Vivian, SD (Pierre exit, I-90, exit 212)
10:45 AM: Arrive Vivian. Transfer urn, flag and plaque to east river riders.
11:15 AM: Depart going to American Legion Post 22
1:45 PM: Arrive Post 22. Mission complete.
