Military Graveside Rites
March 2 & 3, 2025

   The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Ernest ‘Bud’ Kratz to show our appreciation and respect to “Bud” with flags in honor of his service to his and our great country. Bud served in the Naval Reserves from 1955-56 and in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. During his time in the Army, Bud was stationed in Heilbronn, Germany and earned the rank of specialist third class during his service.

Funeral services will be 10:30 am, Monday, March 3, 2025 at the United Church of Christ (Congregational) in Yankton with a one hour visitation prior to the funeral service at the church..  There will be a visitation Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home in Yankton from 5:00-7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service.  Burial will be at the Yankton City Cemetery, Yankton, SD with Military Graveside Rites by the Ernest-Bowyer VFW Post Honor Guard, the SDARNGHG, and the South Dakota Patriot Guard.

The Funeral Service and the visitation will be “Flags Only”.
