The family of Almit “Lynn” Powell has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor “Lynn” with U.S. flags showing our appreciation and respect for his service to his and our great Nation. Following High School, Lynn entered the U.S. Army and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Oct., 1962. He served his country for 8 years, between the years of 1955 and 1963. Lynn lived by the core values of an Army man; Loyalty, Respect, and Integrity.
Visitation with the family present will take place from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, also at the funeral home. A private family burial will take place at Hope Cemetery in Wessington Springs, SD with the local American Legion and the Army Flag fold team doing Military Honors. Visitation will be “Flags Only”.
Flags will be posted 1-1/2 hrs prior to the start of the visitation (5:00 PM) and the funeral (10:00 AM). This is done to have the flags in place and flying when family arrives at the funeral home.
