South Dakota Patriot Guard Riders

   The family of Harlan Tiedeman has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor Harlan with a flag line showing our appreciation and respect for his service to our great Nation.  Harlan joined the 185th Air National Guard Fighter Wing and was stationed in New Mexico during the Vietnam War, he was honorably discharged in 1969.  Harlan was a life member of the American Legion and held various positions ranging from Beresford Post 72 Commander (3X), Union County Commander (2X), and District Commander (1X) along with holding a position for four years at the state level on the Dept. of Internal Affairs Commission. Along with all of that, he was extremely proud to be a part of the American Legion Riders Association.

Funeral services will be 10:30AM Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Beresford. Burial with military honors will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.  Due to weather conditions, the Patriot guard was not able to travel to the Visitation and Funeral for Honors and the burial was postponed until January 17th.
