Funeral/Burial w/Military Honors
April 14th, 2025
Rural Florence, SD

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited, by the family of Michael Matthew Olson, to show our appreciation and respect to Michael with a flag line in honor of his service to his and our great country. Michael graduated from Watertown High School then immediately enlisted in the United States Navy.  He Graduated from the Navy Great Lakes Naval Station an then Michael went on to serve 9 years in the Navy.  during that time, he became the youngest ever naval company commander at the age of 21.  Throughout his time in the Navy, Michael was awarded multiple medals and awards, and acted as the leading petty officer on his final voyage.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Goodhue Lutheran Church in rural Florence, SD, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.  The Funeral Service and the Burial will be “Flags Only”.
