Funeral Mission & Burial w/Military Honors

The family of David L. Carlson has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor David with a flag line showing our appreciation and respect for his service to our great Nation. David entered the United States Army after graduating high school in 1967. He completed his Basic and Advanced Training then was assigned to duty in Vietnam where he served two tours. When he completed his second tour, he returned home in 1970 with an “early separation of overseas duty”, with a rank of Specialist 6th Class and an Honorable Discharge.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD. Burial with Military Honors will be at the American Legion Cemetery in Mitchell, SD.
Stage: 9:15 AM, Wednesday, July 9th at Zion Lutheran Church, 620 E. 3rd Ave., Mitchell, SD.
There will be a short briefing prior to the start of the flag line. If we have riders, bring your escort flags if you have them and bring water to stay hydrated.
Flags will be provided at the church and the cemetery.
