The wife and family of Maynard “Buster” Hemp respectfully requests the S.D. Patriot Guard Riders to stand a flag line, escort, and honor the life of Mr. Hemp at his funeral on Saturday March 31, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Watertown, SD. Interment will follow church services at Castlewood Cemetery, Castlewood, SD.
Maynard “Buster” Hemp served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 and was a Korean War Veteran. He was a Life Member of the Castlewood American Legion Post 250 serving as Post Commander, Post Adjutant, Hamlin County Commander and District 3 Vice Commander. A Life Member of VFW Post 750 in Watertown, Buster was All-State Post Commander in 1966, All-American District 4 Commander in 1997 and 1998, served as District 4 VFW Commander several time.
Buster devoted his entire lifetime to the welfare and aid of veterans of the United States Armed Forces and participated in the graveside military honors (many as bugler) at the funerals of over 400 fellow veterans.
Two Part Mission; Visitation and Funeral. We will be joining the American Legion Riders to Honor Mr. Hemp.
FUNERAL: Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Watertown.
STAGE: At the church at 9:30 a.m.
