SHORT NOTICE
Funeral/Military Honors
March 12th, 2026
Sioux Falls, SD

   The family of John F. Schaffer has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor John with flags showing our appreciation and respect for his service to his and our great Nation.  John enlisted in the United States Army in January of 1962 and was Honorably Discharged in January 1965.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the George Boom Funeral Home.  Visitation with family present, will begin at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 12th, also at the George Boom Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Hills of Rest Cemetery at 2:45 PM.  The services at the Funeral Home will be “Flags Only”.

Stage: 2:15 PM, Thursday, March 12th at Hills of Rest Cemetery, 3408 E. 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD.  Enter the cemetery through the gate in the rear parking lot at George Boom Funeral Home.

Flags will be provided at the cemetery.
