   The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Odell Olsen to show our appreciation and respect to Odell with a flag line in honor of his service to our country.  In July 1963, Odell joined the United States Navy.  He attained the rank of E-9 and Chief of the Board (COB) and during that time, almost 30 years, he rode 8 Submarines and helped build the Banger, WA, Subbase.  He started his career in the nuclear engineering field, and the last part of his time was as the chief of the boat. Odell’s last command was at the submarine training center as the Command Master Chief, retiring June 30, 1992.  After Odell’s Navy retirement, he worked at Fort Stewart Army Base School system in the building maintenance field.  He retired fully in March of 2008.  Odell was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Submarine Veterans.
