Burial/Memorial Mission

The family of Lucus “Luke” Reimers has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor “Luke” with a flag line showing our appreciation and respect for his service to our great Nation. Lucus “Luke” Alan Reimers died on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 due to an auto accident on I-29 Mile Marker 66 near Worthing, SD at the age of 39.
Following High School, Luke enlisted into the United States Marine Corps. and would spend the next 12 years serving honorably through deployments in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. After moving to Brandon with his family later in life, Luke made the choice to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4726 for a “sense of doing something for something bigger. Luke served as Commander of Post 4726, in Brandon for two years, helping the post become an All-American Post both years he was Commander.
His family will be present to greet friends for a memorial visitation on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance in Sioux Falls, SD. The family will have a private burial at the SD Veterans Cemetery for Luke on Friday prior to the celebration of his life at the Alliance.
All elements of this mission will be “Flags Only”.
