The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Frederick “Fritz” W. Gloe to show our appreciation and respect to “Fritz” with a flag line in honor of his service to our great country. Fritz served in the United States Marine Corps 1953-1956 during the Korean War Era and then served in the US Naval Seabees reserves for 10 years and Air National guard reserves for 5 years. He also obtained a Seabees of the year award from US Naval Reserve Seabees division 9-26 Sioux Falls in 1965. Fritz was involved in the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, serving in the VFW Honor Guard and eventually served at a commander level at the VFW in 1964-1965.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2024, at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Interment with full military honors will follow at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls. Memorial visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024, also at the funeral home. The Visitation and the Memorial Service will be “flags only”.
Stage: 2:30 PM, Friday, April 5th at Hills of Rest Cemetery, 3408 E. 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD. Enter the cemetery through the gate in the rear parking lot at George Boom Funeral Home.
Flags will be provided.
