Memorial Service/Military Honors

The family of Richard “Rich” C. Lien has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor “Rich” with flags showing our appreciation and respect for his service to his and our great Nation. Rich proudly served his country in the United States Army beginning in 1965. He was stationed overseas in Germany and was honorably discharged 1967 with the rank of Specialist 5th Class. His last duty assignment and major command was Co B 2nd Bn 51st Inf 7th US Army.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, July 27, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls. His Memorial Service will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 28, 2026, also at George Boom Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Sioux Falls.
Flags will be posted 1-1/2 hrs prior to the visitation (7/27, 5:00 PM), and the funeral (7/28, 10:00 AM). This is done to have the flags in place and flying when family arrives at the funeral home.
Stage: 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 28th at Hills of Rest Cemetery, 3408 E. 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD. Enter the cemetery through the gate in the rear parking lot at George Boom Funeral Home.
Flags will be provided at the cemetery.
