Deployment Ceremony

1.  South Dakota National Guard has invited Patriot Guard Riders and American Legion Riders to stand a flag line for the 109th RSG Activation Ceremony at St Thomas Moore High School, 300 Fairmont Blvd, Rapid City, SD.

Details are:

Saturday, 17 December 2022
12:00 PM:  Set flag line inside building
1:00 PM:  Activation Ceremony

2. Park in the lot on south side facing Monument Hospital.  Flags will be provided inside the building.

3. Due to the poor weather and even worse driving conditions we’re experiencing, request riders who live in Rapid City make an extra effort to attend.

Deployment ceremony scheduled for 109th Regional Support
Group
RAPID CITY, S.D. – A deployment ceremony is scheduled for the South Dakota Army National Guard’s
109th Regional Support Group on Saturday, December 17, at 1 p.m. at Saint Thomas Moore High School
in Rapid City.
The public is encouraged to attend the event as over 75 soldiers with the Rapid City based unit depart for
a year-long federal deployment to the Middle East to provide base support in the CENTCOM region.
Planned speakers for the ceremony include Gov. Kristi Noem, Maj. Gen. Jeff Marlette, SDNG adjutant
general, and Col. Wyatt Hansen, 109th Commander.
The unit will report to Fort Hood, Texas, to complete several weeks of training prior to deployment
overseas
