Honor Mission/Celebration of Life with Burial
May 8th, 2026
Dell Rapids/Trent, SD
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Darrel Lester Bonrud to show our appreciation and respect to Darrel, with flags displayed, in honor of his service to our country. Shortly after graduating high school, Darrel enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving five years of active duty with multiple deployments as a member of the 82nd Airborne Division.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 PM Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Minnehaha Funeral Home,104 East 4th Street, Dell Rapids, SD. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral chapel in Dells. Burial will follow at Oslo Cemetery, rural Trent, SD. Visitation and the Celebration of Life will be “Flags Only”
Stage at the Oslo Cemetery at 1:30 PM if you are able to be at the burial and stand flag line with Paul. Directions – N. on I 29 to exit 104, E. on 240th St. to 484th Ave continue East approx. 1/2 Mile (Oslo Cemetery on S. side of the road.)
Flags will be provided.
