South Dakota Veterans’ Cemetery
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Garry C. Schimke to show our appreciation and respect to Garry with flags displayed in honor of his service to his and our country. In 1967, Garry was drafted into the United States Army and served for two years, one year of which was in Vietnam.
The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 1, 2026 at St. John American Lutheran Church, 1912 W. 13th Street, Sioux Falls. The visitation will at 10:00 am, 1 hour prior to the service at the Church. The interment will take place at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Monday, August 3 at 11 am.
Flags will be posted 1-1/2 hrs prior to the visitation (8/1, 10:00 am). This is done to have the flags in place and flying when family arrives at the church.
Stage: 10:30 am, Monday, August 3rd at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, 25965 477th Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD.
Flags will be provided at the cemetery.
