Funeral Mission/Military Honors
August 19 & 20, 2026

   The family of George R. Harter has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor George, with flags, showing our appreciation and respect for his service to our great Nation.  As a young man George helped his dad on the farm before entering the United States Army in 1953.  He served in Korea for sixteen months before receiving his honorable discharge from the Army.

George’s Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 20, 2026 at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at George Boom Funeral Home, also in Sioux Falls.  Interment with Military Honors at Woodlawn Cemetery following the Funeral Service.

Flags will be posted 1-1/2 hrs prior to the visitation (Wednesday, 8/19, 10:00 am) and the funeral (Thursday, 7/20, 10:00 AM).  This is done to have the flags in place and flying when family arrives at George Boom Funeral Home.

Flags will be provided at the cemetery.
