Funeral Mission/Military Honors
September 2 & 3, 2026

The family of Harold Vander Vegte has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor Harold, with flags, showing our appreciation and respect for his service to our great Nation.  In 1963, Harold joined the United States Navy, where he served as a Sea-bee.  He trained in California before serving in Okinawa and Vietnam.

Visitation on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, from 5:00-7:00 PM.  His Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, September 3, 2026, at First Christian Reformed Church, Sioux Falls.  A Private Family Interment with Military Honors at Woodlawn Cemetery will precede the Memorial Service at 9:30 AM.

Flags will be posted 1-1/2 hrs prior to the visitation (Wednesday, 9/2).  Flags posted for the Memorial Service will be placed at First Christian Reformed Church prior to Interment/Military Honors at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Flags will be provided at the cemetery.
