PGR Event: Greg Wagner Memorial Walk June 2, 2012 – Alexandria, S.D.
The Patriot Guard Riders will again be assisting in the Greg Wagner Memorial Walk on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. The walk starts at the Hanson High School parking lot located at 7th Street and Spruce Avenue; same avenue as I-90 Exit 344 and the highway that is being closed for the Memorial Walk south of town.
Our duties are to provide support to walkers by encouraging them and also escorting traffic through the route to make it safe for the walkers; we will be riding the route and posting at points along the route. Lunch is provided after the walk at 1st & Main, BBQ Pork sandwiches, chips and water.
The Greg Wagner Memorial Walk consists of a 5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon (13 miles). This year the proceeds will go to CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocate.
The mission of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program is to promote and protect the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in court proceedings through advocacy efforts of trained volunteers.
Stage: 0730 at the Shell gas station at I-90 Exit 344. Flag your bikes, Briefing, KSU at 0745 to go to the starting area. Flags will not be provided. Plan on this event lasting four hours, but if you can’t attend for the entire time, that’s okay.
