The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Wayne Steichen to show our appreciation and respect to Wayne with a flag line in honor of his service to his and our great country. Wayne entered the United States Navy in December 1944, attending boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois, and radio/radar school in Gulf Port, Mississippi, for five months. He was sent overseas and served in the South Pacific and China area aboard a Landing Craft Support ship. Wayne was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Navy in July 1946.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a Liturgical Wake and Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM at George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Saint Wilfred’s Catholic Church in Woonsocket, SD, with Public Visitation from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the church on Wednesday. Visitation in Brandon, SD on Tuesday and visitation with the Mass of Christian Burial in Woonsocket, SD on Wednesday will be “Flags Only”. Burial at Saint Wilfred’s Catholic Cemetery will be immediately following Mass. The cemetery is located at the North-west corner of Woonsocket.
Flags will be provided at the Cemetery.
Stage: 2:30 PM, Wednesday, November 9th at Saint Wilfred’s Catholic Cemetery.
