The family of Kim Alan Verhey has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor Kim, with flags, showing our appreciation and respect for his service to his community, his state and our great Nation. In 1972, Kim enlisted in the United States Army, serving as a track and wheeled vehicle mechanic with HHC 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry of the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1975. Kim then served in the South Dakota National Guard for nine years, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Thursday, May 28th at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be on Thursday one hour prior the service at the church. Burial with full military honors at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.
Stage for Funeral: 8:45 am, Thursday, May 28th at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 203 N. Harth Ave., Madison, SD.
Stage for Burial & Military Honors: 1:30 pm, Thursday, May 28th at South Dakota Veterans’ Cemetery, 25965 477th Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD.
Flags will be provided at both stages of the mission.
