Funeral/Military Honors
June 30 & July 1, 2026

The family of Michael Lorang has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor Michael with flags showing our appreciation and respect for his service to his and our great Nation. Following high school in 1979, Michael enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Air Transportation Specialist. He served his country at multiple duty stations. The one he was most honored to serve was Dessert Storm\Dessert Shield. He was awarded the Kuwait Liberation Medal upon completion of his duty there. Michael proudly served for 16 ½ years, accepting early retirement on June 30, 1995.
Visitation with the family present will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, also at the funeral home. Military honors will take place at Hills of Rest Cemetery in Sioux Falls, immediately following the funeral service. Flags will be posted 1-1/2 hrs prior to the start of the visitation and funeral, to have the flags flying when family arrives.
STAGE: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 1st at Hills of Rest Cemetery, 3408 E. 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD. Enter the cemetery through the gate in the rear parking lot at George Boom Funeral Home.
Flags will be provided at the cemetery.
