Memorial Service& Military Honors
July 16th, 2026
South Dakota Veterans’ Cemetery

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Bruce G. Medema to show our appreciation and respect to Bruce with flags displayed in honor of his service to our country.  Bruce was drafted into the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War where he was listed as a sharp shooter and tank specialist.  He served from March 6th, 1964 to March 6th 1966.

Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at George Boom Funeral Home with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM.  Interment with Military Honors will take place immediately following the service at the South Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Flags will be posted 1-1/2 hrs prior to the start of the visitation (1:00 PM) .  This is done to have the flags in place and flying when family arrives at the funeral home.

Stage: 2:30 PM, Thursday, July 16th at the SD Veterans’ Cemetery, 25965 477th Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD.

Flags will be provided at the cemetery.
