The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Donald Swearingen to show our appreciation and respect to Donald with a flag line in honor of his service to his and our great country. Donald enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was stationed aboard the Heavy Cruiser USS Chicago until it was sunk near Guadalcanal. He then ran supply barges around the Philippines until assigned to a refrigeration ship until the end of the war.
Funeral services for Donald and his wife, Fern will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Their family will be present to greet family and friends for visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 18, 2022, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. The Funeral Service and the visitation will both be “Flags Only”.
Stage: 12:15 p.m., Saturday, February 19th at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 2001 E 12th St, Sioux Falls, SD.
For your own safety and the safety of others, we are asking any members that choose to attend this mission to be prepared to comply with the “Covid Safety” mask and distancing recommendations, if requested by the family, the funeral home or is required by the community that you are in.
Flags will be provided.
