Funeral Mission

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Arden P. “Flip” Fjellanger to show our appreciation and respect to Flip with a flag line in honor of his service to his and our great country. Flip served his country in the United States Air Force and South Dakota Air National Guard.
Flip entered the U.S. Air Force on August 31, 1954 in Sioux Falls, SD. He was honorably discharged on December 15, 1955 at Bryan Air Force Base, TX. The next day, December 16, 1955, Flip enlisted in the South Dakota Air National Guard. He continued to serve in the SDANG until his honorable discharge with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel on January 12, 1984.
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday, October 4 at First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, with burial at Hills of Rest Cemetery. Visitation begins at 5:00 PM Thursday, October 3 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls, where the family will greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Flags will be placed on Thursday, for visitation, by 4:00 PM.
Stage: 9:00 AM, Friday, October 4 at First Lutheran Church, 327 S. Dakota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD.
Please remember to dress for your comfort with the morning temps that we are having this time of the year and know that your safety comes first if you need to step off line to warm up.
Flags will be provided.
