The PGR has been invited by the family of Darwin DeWayne Mundahl to share in honoring him with a flag line and also showing our appreciation and respect to him for his service to his country. Darwin enlisted in the U.S. Army in October of 1967. He was trained to be a firefighter and in aircraft crash rescue. After his training, he served in the Vietnam War from 1968-1969. He was honorably discharged after being injured. Darwin was also a member of the American Legion Riders in Sioux Falls.
Memorial services for Darwin DeWayne Mundahl will begin at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home, 4800 S. Minnesota Ave., Sioux Falls, SD. Family will greet visitors one hour prior to the service.
Stage: 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Heritage Funeral Home. The flags will be placed around 4:30 p.m. so that they are up prior to the arrival of the family at 5:00 p.m.
Darwin’s urn and cremains will be escorted by the American Legion Riders Saturday morning, May 20, on his trike to the Forest Hill Cemetery on Hwy 11 SW of Canton, SD. They are planning for KSU at 9:30 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home and stage at 9:00 a.m. The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to ride escort with them “rain or shine” and we will stand for the graveside rites at the cemetery. Anyone wishing to assist with this escort, please RSVP me so I can let them know how many will be there. We will have another mission in Sioux Falls at the same time so I would like to know where our attendees are planning to go.
