Funeral Mission/Military Honors

The family of Clinton “Dick” Richard Wells has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor “Dick” with flags showing our appreciation and respect for his service to our great Nation. Dick was drafted into the United States Army in 1964 and trained at Fort Leonardwood, Missouri. He was sent to Vietnam and stationed in Qui Nhon for nine months with the 58th Transportation Company. After serving his country in the war, he continued in the Army Reserves for over 20 years. During this time, he was named Soldier of the Year and retired as an E7. Dick was a member of the American Legion, Post 15, and a lifetime member of VFW, Post 628. Dick was also Commander for two years at Brandon Post 4726.
Visitation with family present will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, December 15, 2025, at the George Boom Funeral Home, in Sioux Falls. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church, also in Sioux Falls. Committal will be 3:00 PM in the Hills of Rest Cemetery, following a lunch at the church.
Stage: 2:30 PM, Tuesday, December 16th at Hills of Rest Cemetery, 3408 E. 10th St., Sioux Falls, SD. Enter the cemetery through the gate in the rear parking lot at George Boom Funeral Home.
Flags will be provided.
