Funeral Mission
July 29 & 30, 2018
Sioux Falls, SD

The family of Granade Francis “Harry” Harrigle has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor “Harry” with a flag line showing our respect and appreciation for his service to his country during WWII.

In 1943 Harry quit school and joined the United States Navy, later being attached to the “Fighting” Fourth Division of the United States Marines Corps.  He served in the Pacific and on the islands of Iwo Jima, Saipan, Tinian, Okinawa, and Gaum.   Harry was awarded four bronze stars and three purple hearts.  Harry had a hard time accepting those medals.  He said, “those belonged to the guys who didn’t come home.”

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 30th at St. Lambert’s Catholic Church, Sioux Falls, with burial at Hurley Cemetery.  Visitation begins at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 29th at George Boom Funeral Home & Crematory, Sioux Falls, where the family will greet friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  Liturgical Wake Services with the Rosary will begin at 4:00 PM on Sunday.  A lunch will be served prior to departure from Sioux Falls to the Hurley Cemetery for graveside and military rites at 11:45 AM.

Stage: 8:30 AM Monday, July 30th, 2018 at St. Lambert’s Catholic Church, 1000 S. Bahnson Ave. Sioux Falls, SD.  Flags will be placed for visitation by 1:00 PM, Sunday, July 29th, at George Boom Funeral Home, 3408 E. 10th St. Sioux Falls, SD.
