Funeral Mission
August 2nd & 3rd, 2018
Sioux Falls, SD
The family of Harold L. Mostrom has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to honor Harold with a flag line in appreciation and respect for his service in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
Most people have never been to the rugged Himalaya Mountains between India and China but Harold had been there 103 times, in the service with the famous “Hump Flyers” of World War II, braving treacherous weather and the 29,029’ heights of Mt Everest to fly life-saving supplies to Chinese forces that were battling Japanese occupation. Harold twice received the Distinguished Flying Cross; and twice received the Air Medal for meritorious service for “heroism and extraordinary achievement,”.
Harold’s Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday August 3, 2018 at East Side Lutheran Church with Rev. Layne Nelson officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at George Boom Funeral Home & Crematory in Sioux Falls where the family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Flags will be placed at the funeral home for visitation by 4:00 p.m.
Stage: 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at East Side Lutheran Church, 1300 E. 10th St, Sioux Falls, SD. Burial with Military Honors will immediately follow the funeral at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
Flags will be provided at all locations.
